Personalized Genealogy Chart

I've had many comments on my Genealogy chart and how I made it. I got the wonderful idea from my sister (who is awesomely creative) and made it for my young women family history lesson. Here it is...

Step 1     Create an account at https://new.familysearch.org

Step 2    Do your genealogy...ok this may take some time, luckily for me it was already done. The great thing about the new family search is it compiles everyone work, so maybe someone else has worked on it?

Step 3     Go to http://treeseek.com/ and click on my account tab. It will ask you to log in at new family search so it can access the information. Click on create a chart. The starting person will automatically be filled in as you. If you don't want it to be you go to family search and find the person you want and copy their id. I did my charts and the starting point being "our children" so it would show both sides. If you want this you will need to make a "fake" person and copy their id. Next pick out what kind of chart you want there are many options. Click create chart. (it takes a couple minutes and when done will appear in my account.

Step 4   Once completed it you will be able to open it in acrobat and save it to a flash drive. Take it to  to be kinco's to be printed out for around a $1-2.

Step 5  Make it pretty!!! I bought a frame at Micheal's using the extra %20 off. Bought scrapbook paper and used a black poster board as the frame. I then printed up some ancestor pictures and names and arrange them around the chart.

Sorry about the glare I lack photography skills!
